STELLARTON – Chris A. MacLean, age 80, of Stellarton, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Pictou she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Elsie (Ross) McNeil.
She was retired from Michelin Tire. She enjoyed her daily trips for coffee.
She is survived by daughters: Cheryl (Pat) Artymko, Oshawa, Ontario; Karen (Jack) MacKenzie, Pictou Landing; Kim MacLean Woodin, Westville; son, Ross (Peggy), Nebraska; grandchildren: Sean, Chrissy, Jason, Alanna, Stacey, Todd, David, Melissa, Christina, Jacklyn and Briana; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Braniff, Durham; Lill (Gene) Naspo, New Jersey. She will be missed by her dog Maggie.
She was predeceased by her husband, James “Jim”; son, Barry; great-grandson, Alex; sisters, Glennie, Annabelle; brother, Jack; son-in-law, John Woodin; companion dog, Bessie.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Abercrombie Cemetery with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit or A.L.S. Society.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Randy Burrill and Dr. Gerry Farrell and the staff at the Aberdeen Hospital for the care Chris received the past month.
