Born In: Florence
Passed in: Florence
It is with broken hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our mother, sister, aunt and friend, Norma Jean Denney (MacLean).
A lifetime resident of Florence, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Lillian MacLean (Pye).
Norma Jean was a devoted member of Wilson United Church, Florence, and actively involved with the Alzheimer's Society. She was an avid walker, runner and cyclist.
Her children were her pride and joy, she never missed a baseball or hockey game and received great enjoyment watching her daughter dance.
Norma Jean was the proud mother of three children, Matthew (Katie), Christopher and Allison. She is also survived by her four sisters and two brothers, Darlene (David) Bond, North Sydney, Carol (Jake) Wall, Bras d'Or, Laura Marsh, Sydney Mines, Michele (Gordie) Stewart, Leamington, Ont., Norman (Betty) Pye, Sydney Mines, and Ron MacLean, Bras d'Or.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Brian MacLean and brother-in-law, Barry Marsh.
She will be sadly missed by many, especially Dean Denney, Rejean Michele, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and a very close circle of friends.
Visitation for Norma Jean Denney will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, on Friday, Aug. 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Wilson United Church, Florence, with Rev. David Luker officiating.
Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Wilson United Church, or a charity of one's choice.
