Earl Noiles

NOILES, Stanley Earl -93, of the Northumberland Veteran’s Unit, Pictou, and formerly of Amherst, passed away peacefully August 1, 2013 in the Unit. Born in Sackville, New Brunswick, he was the only son of the late Stanley & Blanche (Robinson) Noiles, and is the last surviving member their family. Earl served in the R.C.A.F. from 1939-1945. He returned to Sackville and worked at the Enterprise Foundry. He then moved to Charlottetown, PEI, where he was employed with MCA. In 1953 he and his family settled in Amherst where he worked for Enamel & Heating in the Aircraft Division. Upon retirement he and his late wife enjoyed time at their cottage in Lorneville, going for long walks, attending the Amherst Ramblers hockey games and visiting family. He was also a member of the RCAF Association, 105 Cumberland Wing, for over 50 years. Earl was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Florence M. (Sparkes) in 2007, her parents, G. Arthur & Freda Sparkes; sisters, Dee Smith, Ferol (Clarence) Taylor, Inie (Charlie) Milton; and great granddaughter, Mallory Cruikshank. He was also predeceased by sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sybil and Paul Smith, brother-in-law, Jack Sparkes. Surviving are daughters, Gini (Pete) Cruikshank, Pictou; and Sharry (Jim) Nicolle, Tantallon; grandchildren, Kathy (Mike) Cochrane, Pictou; Dana (Lillie) Cruikshank, Lyons Brook; Mark (Cheryl) Cruikshank, Scotsburn; Chris (Kelli) Cruikshank, Scotsburn; Colin (Anne Marie) Nicolle, Tantallon; Anna (Kevin) Murphy, Ottawa; eight great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, one step great great grandson, several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or funeral by request. A graveside service will be held in the Sackville Cemetery at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
