Alexander MacDOUGALL
MacDOUGALL, Alexander January 22, 1951 - July 19, 2013 Alexander (Alex) Ernest MacDougall left this world peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2013 in Hamilton General Hospital. His family is deeply grateful for the excellent care and support provided by the ICU team. Alex was born in Truro, Nova Scotia on January 22, 1951, the eldest son of Anne and Sandy MacDougall (both now deceased). As a young man, he travelled to Ontario to pursue his musical career. Well-known in the local music community, as a musician/producer/ recording engineer, Alex played electric guitar with well-known bands: from Magic Bubble and Bond to Harrison Kennedy 'n' the Rockin' Hurricanes and Crowbar and most recently with Groove Corporation. He was also an avid artist and many of his paintings are proudly hung on walls across Canada. Alex is survived by his wife Vicki (Fraser), his sons Joel (Jennifer) and Aaron (Grazyna), grandchildren Claire and Max, and Evan, Carter, and Georgia. His siblings Val (Reg) Conrod, Hazel (Terry) Mace, Dan (Susan), Ross (Kelly), and Wayne as well as relatives from Nova Scotia to British Columbia are deeply saddened by his passing. At Alex's request, cremation has taken place. A musical memorial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Alex's name to a charity of your choice.
