Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, August 2, 2013, Sophie G. Colbourne of Carbonear, age 67 years. Predeceased by: parents: Albert and Winifred Sellars; sister: Evelyn Sampson. Leaving to mourn, husband: James; one daughter: Judy-Lynn (Dr. Shane) Roberts, Paradise; one son: Christopher (Cecilia), Airdrie, AB; three grandchildren: Megan, Matthew and Rebecca; two sisters: Albertha (Eric) Chubbs, Carbonear and Jessie (Frank) Parsons, Harbour Grace; brothers-in-law: Peter Sampson, Harbour Grace, George (Ruth) Colbourne, Eric (Glenda) Colbourne and Morley (Ann) Colbourne, all of Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Betty (Wayne) Butt, Claudine Colbourne and Marg Colbourne, all of Carbonear; lifelong friends: Mary Butt, Carbonear and Stella Crane, Bay Roberts; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Canon Bill Strong conducted the funeral service on Monday, August 5 from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in her memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear.
