Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague, on Friday, August 22, 2008, of Louis Francis Hynes of Greenfield, age 80 years. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Callaghan) Hynes and the late Mary (nee Dunn) Hynes. Dear father of David (Valerie), Greenfield; Rhonda (John) MacLean, Brudenell; Michael (Darlene), Greenfield; Linda (Philip) Jenkins, Carlton Place, ON; Glenn (Christine), Stellarton, N.S.; and Carolyn (Edison) O’Connor, Milltown Cross. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren: Ryan, Glenn, Brittany and Michele Hynes; Jennifer and Heather MacLean; Sarah and Matthew Jenkins; Rodney, Curtis and Merideth Hynes; and Derek, Nicholas, Jake, Rachel and Zach O’Connor. Also survived by his sister-in-law Marjorie Hynes, nephew Michael and niece Anne, all of England. Louis is also remembered by his brothers-in-law Louis (Mary) Callaghan, George (Alida) Callaghan and Kenneth (Shirley) Callaghan. Predeceased by his parents John J. and Elizabeth (Power) Hynes and by his only brother, Joseph Hynes (of England) and by his beloved oldest son Gerald Francis Hynes (1973) and infant grandson Curtis O’Connor. Resting at Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home until Tuesday at 10:50, then to St. Mary’s Church for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Visitation Monday, 7-9 p.m. only.
