Wesley Frank Gallant
The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit, Community Hospital, O'Leary, on Monday, August 12, 2013 of Wesley Frank Gallant, age 85, veteran of Second World War, beloved husband of Millie (nee MacNevin).
Wesley was born on October 18, 1927 in Roxbury to the late Joseph and Emily (nee Hierlihy) Gallant. Loving father to Gloria, O'Leary; Dwight (Paulette MacAusland), Summerside; Paulette (Gary) MacGregor, Gimli, MB; and Cynthia (Bobby) Squires, O'Leary. Cherished grandfather to Korene (Corey) Kowalski, Cory James Gallant, Spencer Gallant, Bobbi Jo (Thomas) Mears and Taylor (Ellen) Squires; and great-grandchildren, Keenan, Kennedy, Mabel and Noah. Wesley is also survived by brothers and sisters: Clifford (Theresa) Gallant, Summerside; Eric (Liz) Gallant, Summerside; Willie (Angela) Gallant, Halifax, N.S.; Sue (Doug) Simpson, South Hampton, ON; and Florence Gray, O'Leary; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Roger MacDonald, Empress MacDonald, Hollis MacNevin, all of O'Leary, and Russell MacNevin, Yarmouth, N.S. Predeceased by his parents; grandson, Jacy MacGregor; sisters, Louise, Julia, Josie; and brother, Orille.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Tuesday, August 13, from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday until 10 a.m., then to St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Comrades from Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2 O'Leary will hold a service of remembrance for their late comrade on Tuesday evening at 5:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
