Gallant, Alice M. widow of the late Victor Gallant (2001), passed away peacefully on August 14, 2013 at Résidence Beaux Souvenirs in Dieppe. She was born on October 3 1918 in Moncton, the daughter of the late Louis Lirette and Angeline Arsenault. She and her husband Victor operated for many years Moonlight Camping Au Clair d’la Lune in Cape Egmont PEI before retiring in New Brunswick.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the Saint Anselme Parish.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Emile (Marie) of Dieppe; Henri (Gloria) of St. Raphael, PEI; Marie-Thérèse (Ray Mahar) of St. Nicholas, PEI; Maurice (Betty MacNeill) of St. Nicholas, PEI; Georges (Lynda Wagner) of Summerside, PEI; Alban of Summerside, PEI; and Noel (Arlene) of Cape Egmont, PEI; her sister, Sr. Thérèse Lirette of Moncton; brothers: Walter Lirette of Moncton; Henri Lirette (Cécile) of Moncton; and Aurèle Lirette (Adèle) of Dieppe; twenty-one grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Albert Hébert of Moncton; sister-in-law Marguerite Gallant of Cape Egmont PEI; and Mina Gallant of Kensington PEI; as well as many nephews and nieces.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters: Yvonne; Florence; Jeanne; Anita; Florida and brother Léo; infant sons Albert and Louis; infant grand-daughter Melissa, and infant great-granddaughter Riley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18th, from 1:00-5:00 pm at Fair Haven Funeral Home.
The funeral mass will take place at St. Anselme Roman Catholic Church on Monday, August 19th at 11:00 am, Pere Arthur Bourgeois officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
