MacARTHUR, ALEXANDER (SANDY) - Alexander (Sandy) Paul MacArthur of Woodstock, NB passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Carleton Manor Nursing Home Woodstock, NB. Sandy was born in Sydney, NS on November 18, 1937 son of the late John and Elizabeth (MacMullin) MacArthur. Sandy is survived by his wife; Mary MacArthur, Woodstock, NB, daughters; Michele Boyd (Karl), Woodstock, NB, Barbara MacArthur (Dan DeBow), Saint John, NB, grandchild; Jakob Alexander DeBow, sister; Anna Kehoe, Port Hawkesbury, NS, brothers; John MacArthur, Sydney, NS, Roddie MacArthur, Sydney, NS, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents; Sandy was predeceased by his brothers; Joe and Donald (Boo).
Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Wednesday, August 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22 from St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church at 11 AM with Fr. John Keoughan. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer Society, Carleton Manor Nursing Home or to the Carleton County Animal Shelter.
