It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, uncle, companion and friend, John Moore, on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 in Gander Nfld., with his angel Maureen Rose at his side.
Born in Leitches Creek, he was the son of the late Everett and Ethel Alma (Banfield) Moore.
John was a graduate of Riverview High School and the Cape Breton Business College. He owned and operated Jamor Enterprises in Leitches Creek for many years.
He served as a senior NCO and Junior Officer with the NS Highlanders. He was a member of the Cabot Snowmobile Club and the Caper Riders Motorcycle Club.
John is survived by his son, Everett, Calgary; Lois Allen, mother of Everett, North Sydney; his companion, Maureen Rose and by many nieces and nephews.
John was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff of James Paton Hospital in Gander, for the care and compassion shown to John during his final days.
In keeping with John’s wishes, along with his love of Celtic music, there will be no visitation or service. Instead, a ceilidh will be held on his birthday, Oct. 19th to celebrate his life.
