It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Thomas “Copper” Tobin announce his passing on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving ­memories, his children: William “Bill” (Mildred Lundrigan) Tobin, Gary (Penney Elliott) Tobin, Lorraine (Stan) Kocot, Glen Tobin and Greg Tobin; ­special family friend, Wayne Bennett; grandchildren: Michael Tobin, Cheryl Kocot, Lisa Tobin, Reggie Tobin, Adrian Tobin, Leanne Tobin, Claire Tobin and Danny Kocot; five great-grandchildren; ­brother, Nick Tobin; sisters-in-law: Jean Campbell, Florence Tobin, June Tobin and Julie Tobin; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Eliza Tobin, January 26, 2013; ­parents, Jack and Ann Tobin; brothers: Vince, Joe, Ralph, Fred and Dave; ­sisters: Alice and Ann. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. from All Hallows Parish, Humber Road, with Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As ­expressions of sympathy, flowers ­graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
