It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril John Bennett announce his passing on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his six grandchildren: Gwen (David) Bartlett, Bobbi Gash (Jim – Deceased), Peggy (Dan) Sacrey, Susan Martin, Jackie (Tony) Duffney and Roger Martin (Debbie); numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special friend Derrick Bennett; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret Bennett, parents John and Frances Benoit, daughter Grace (Clarke) Martin, brothers Ernest, Tom and Joe. A special thank you to the staff of 3 South at the Long Term Care Facility, Dr. Huxter and Elaine and staff at the Lohnes Complex. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 10:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Parish in Curling with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted.
