Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, August 18, 2013, Meta Beryl Slade of Salmon Cove, age 92 years. Predeceased by husband: Herbert C; brothers: Augustus and Roland; sisters: Grace, Neta and Constance; three infant siblings; brothers-in-law: Ralph, Chesley, Thomas and John; sisters-in-law: Gertrude, Cecily, Ascenith, Lillian and Mildred. Left to mourn, two daughters: Hilda (Art) Curnew, Kingston and Glenda (Wayne) Burke, Victoria; three sons: Karl (Rita), Kelvin (Jennifer) and Allister (Janice), all of Salmon Cove; fifteen grandchildren: Tanya, Kirsty, Chad, Melanie, Lee, Dewey, Thomas, Michael, Shawn, Sherry (their mother Yvonne), Zachary, Emma, Charli, Bradley and Tyler; fifteen great-grandchildren: Brittany, Joshua, Jasmine, Cloe, Hannah, Abigail, Madison, Troy, Jordan, Harmony, Hudson, Hailey, Austin, Noah and Liam; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. T. Wayne Blackwood conducted the funeral service on Tuesday, August 20 from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment took place in the Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. Donations in her memory may be made to Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove.
