McLAUGHLIN, RONALD J. - Ronald James McLaughlin passed away peacefully on August 24, 2013 in the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Saint John on September 21, 1939. He was predeceased by his wife, Doreen (Arthurs); and parents, James and Katherine. He is survived by his two step-sons, Dr. Shawn (Jill) Jennings and Duane (Terry) Jennings; and his grandchildren, Colin (Sarah), Beth (Brian) and Tara (Andrew). Ron worked at Thorne's, Canada Packers and Social Services, and was an independent insurance broker until retirement. He loved his summers at Buckley's Cove on the Kingston Peninsula and when he retired he lived there from late April until November. Ron's family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses and Janice, the EMH dietician for their kindness and care throughout his illness.
Dad has requested that there will be no visiting hours. A private family service at the burial site will be held. In Dad's memory, remembrances may be made to the SPCA, Salvation Army or to a charity of the donor's choice.
