NEW GLASGOW – Everette Grant MacDougall, age 89, of High St. Estates, New Glasgow, passed away August 28, 2013, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Blue Mountain, Pictou County, he was a son of the late John Allister and May Sophia (MacCulloch) MacDougall.
Everette was a resident of New Glasgow most of his married life. He was a retired truck driver and bus driver with Pictou County Transit. Everette was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, where he had served as an elder.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years the former Margaret R. Greene; step-son Wayne (Gloria), Lochaber; step-grandchildren: Alison, Robyn and Kerri; step-great-grandchildren: Jack, Sara, Ellie and Elise; brother Raymond (Lennie), Stellarton; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Alexis; brothers: Clifford, Fraser, Freddie and Clarence “Clary”.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Roy officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
