Raymond Maillet
MAILLET, RAYMOND - 1936 - 2013 - Raymond Maillet, 77, of Dieppe, NB, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, August 28th, 2013, at The Moncton Hospital. Born in New Waterford, NS, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Malvina (née: Bourgeois) Maillet. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Maillet had worked for 35 years with NSLC. He served with the RCAF for 7 years; a proud member of the Legion for over 53 years and he was also involved in several other community programs in Chéticamp. Raymond recently moved from Chéticamp, NS to Dieppe, NB, to be closer to his children and grandchildren. A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, he will be sorely missed. He leaves to mourn his wife of 53 years, Annie Luce (née: LeBlanc); two daughters: Donna (Robert) Gendron and Denise Fiset; two grandchildren: Terry Fiset and Marie Christine Gendron; one sister, Georgina Merry, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Isabelle; one brother, Ernest and also by two granddaughters in infancy.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Friday from 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday from 9:30 am until time if departure. A legion service will be held on Friday at 6:45 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Saturday, August 31st, 2013 at 10:30 am. Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you is sent to the Neuro ICU staff, especially Dr. Dhany Charest, Blair Deveaux and all the nursing staff, who provided excellent care in this difficult time.
