It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Veronica Lynn White, 54, loving mother, sister and aunt on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in North Sydney, Veronica was the daughter of Charlotte (Whitty) White, North Sydney, and the late Patrick White.
She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.She loved her work as a cook and was employed at the Lobster Pound and Captain Ron’s Restaurants until she could no longer work because of her illness. Her family was an important part of her life and she enjoyed helping others.
Besides her mother Charlotte, she is also survived by her daughter, Shannon (Jason Quirk) White, Kitchener, Ont.; her brothers, Leo White (Sheri McDonald), Sydney Mines, John (Tanya) White, Mike (Nicole) White, Jerry White, all of North Sydney; her sisters, Adele (Ron) Fraser, Alder Point, Florence (Peter) MacDonald, Sydney Mines, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Patrick White, her brothers, Simon and Johnny and one sister, Katherine (Dermot 'Tiny') Barnes.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass for Veronica will be held 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
