With profound sadness we regret to announce the death of Margaret Helen LeBlanc, 96, (formerly of East Margaree, and a resident of Foyer Père Fiset, Cheticamp) on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Margaret was the daughter of the late Caliste Muise and Suzanne (Blanchard) Muise. She was the last surviving member of her family.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she deeply loved her family and their welfare was her utmost concern.
Known for her warm and caring manner, Margaret welcomed everyone to her kitchen for tea and a delicious baked treat. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed feeding thousands of friends who visited her over the years. Margaret was also proud to be a lifelong member of the Catholic Women’s League of East Margaree.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Hubert Austin LeBlanc; her son, Hubert Jr. (Pauline), Milton, Ont.; her daughter, Sylvia (Kenneth) Crowdis of Sydney River; and her cherished grandchildren, Steven, Milton, Ont.; Robert (Katherine) LeBlanc, Toronto, Ont.; and Suzanne (Paul Knight) Crowdis of Ottawa, Ont.
She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Muise; sisters, Mary Ellen Muise and Adele Luedey. She leaves to mourn nieces and nephews, who loved her deeply.
Visitation will be at St. Michael’s Parish Hall, East Margaree, on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Michaels’s Church, East Margaree on Monday at 11 a.m. with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services.
