Christopher Flecknell
FLECKNELL, CHRISTOPHER WILLIAM – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of their hero Christopher William Flecknell which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013. Born May 1986, in Saint John, he is the son of Joe and Christine (Cox) Flecknell of Saint John. Chris, known as “Fleckie” graduated from Saint John High School in 2004. He was good with his hands and worked as a Carpenter, blacksmith, and machinist. Chris was kind-hearted, he loved spending time with his family and friends. His perseverance and determination was an inspiration to many. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his parents, Chris is survived by his wife Lish (Johnston) Flecknell of Saint John and their precious two month old baby girl Dahlia-Joan; his only brother Oliver (Amanda) of Fredericton; nephews Cole and Miles; maternal grandparents Jean Cox and Eric Green; paternal grandmother Mavis Flecknell all of Saint John; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and canine companions Vegas and Ella and feline companion Percy. Chris was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Reginald Cox and paternal grandfather Matt Flecknell. The family would like to thank the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital, in particular 4B South, Dr. Kolyvas, and Loop’D.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, September 6th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, September 7th at 1 p.m. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’s memory may be made to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, or The Kidney Foundation of Canada - Atlantic Canada Branch, Saint John.
