
Roger LeBlanc

It is with heavy hearts that we regret to announce the passing of Roger Thomas LeBlanc, age 56, of East Margaree.
Born on Feb. 20, 1957, Roger and his family moved to Montreal a few years later, where he graduated from MacDonald Cartier High School. During his senior high school years, Roger's love for music led him into forming a rhythm and blues band called Dealers Choice.
At the age of 24, during a family visit back to Cape Breton, Roger met the woman who he knew someday he would marry. Roger's love and faithfullness to his wife and children were of utmost importance to him.
Roger, an entrepreneur, opened his own business, Roger's Hardwood Flooring, where he worked for 15 years. In 2009, Roger returned to school where he took a course as a continuing care assistant, followed with employment at Pere Fiset Nursing Home in Cheticamp. With his caring, compassion and God-filled heart, he gave the residents the best of himself. Roger was a believer in positive change.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Roger leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Elaine LeBlanc; his two children, Jesse, age 23, Sara, age 18. His mother, Mary Agnes LeBlanc, Margaree Forks; his brothers, Kevin, Vietnam, and Sandy, Fort McMurray; sisters, Gail Leeke, Fort McMurray, and Angela, Margaree Forks; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, John Thomas LeBlanc.
Visitation will be held today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Michael's parish hall, East Margaree. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m., St. Michael's Church, East Margaree, Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Cremation to follow.
Donations may be made to St. Michael's parish hall or St. Michael's Cemetery Fund.
