Joyce Mersereau
MERSEREAU, JOYCE E. - Joyce E. Mersereau, 87, of Monarch Hall, Riverview and formerly of Lynwood Drive, Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Born in Hampton, she was the daughter of the late Hurley and Annie (Santer) Gillis. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a former telephone operator and receptionist, a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, former member of the Alter Guild at the church, and was Past President of the Ladies Auxillary of the Hampton Legion Branch #28. Joyce will be sadly missed by her children, Donald (Anna) of Riverview, Beverley Atkinson (Larry) of Scotch Settlement, Barbara Smith (Alan) of Quispamsis, Brenda Geneau of Moncton, Michele King (Stephen) of Upper Coverdale; many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; sister, Irene Bettle of Hampton; brothers, Earle Gillis (Shirley) of Oromocto, Paul Gillis of Penticton, BC; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Mersereau (2001); brothers, Douglas, Freeman and Don.
Visitation at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Elmwood Drive, on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Brent Ham and Rev. Rod Black officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
