HEIMSTAD, JOAN ELLEN - It is with great sadness the friends of Joan Ellen Heimstad announce her death which occurred unexpectedly at her residence on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Born June 1946 she was the daughter of the late Terald M. Heimstad and B. Pearle Heimstad Dunlop. She was a graduate of Saint John High School, Class of 1964. Joan worked for 30 years, as a Banker, for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in several supervisory capacities. The later part of her working career was with the Federal Government, working with the Canada Revenue Agency, she retired in the fall of 2011 in the capacity of a PM2 position. Joan is survived by her many friends including her special friends Barbara and Norman Raynes with whom she resided for the past 37 years. She was much like a second mother to their children Anthony N.C. Raynes and Rosalyn Raynes O’Neill, and their families. Joan was a member of Calvary Temple Church and in her earlier years was a faithful Sunday School teacher of elementary children. Joan was a student of the Bible especially the study End Times Events. Joan was a very loyal, faithful and compassionate friend and employee. She enjoyed traveling especially to Florida and entertaining friends particularly when playing board games. She will be missed.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Calvary Temple Church on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception.
