BEALS, PETER JAMES - It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Beals announces his death at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the age of 64. Born in Halifax, NS, on August 26, 1949 he was the husband of Dawn (Rowe) Beals of Oromocto. In addition to his wife, Dawn, Peter leaves behind his children, Shawn (Calesta Polchies) and Melissa Beals; grandchildren, Nevaeh, Hunter and Horatio; brothers, Paul (Kathy) of Hampton, NB and David (Joanne) Beals of PEI; nieces and nephews, Sara, Nathan, Trevor, Scottie, Rene, Jonathan, Mike, Carrie, Jennifer, Katelyn, Aden, Emily and Jessica; great nieces and nephews, Abigail, Evan, Alex, James, Akira, Haley and Damien; mother in law, Lillian Rowe; brothers in law, Scott (April), Derek (Kerry) and Gary Rowe; Emmanuel and Cynthia Polchies; as well as a large extended family and many friends. Peter was a loving father and husband who will be greatly missed. He had 36 years of service with the fire department in Oromocto, starting as a firefighter and retiring as chief. In his spare time Peter liked to golf, hunt and fish.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St. on Thursday, September 19th, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday, September 20th at 2 pm with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Interment will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory can be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation, Oromocto Public Hospital Foundation or the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation.
