HICKS, LLOYD GORDON - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, Lloyd G. Hicks passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Beloved husband of 54 Years to Inez (Jenkins) Hicks, Lloyd was born in Berry Mills, NB., a son of the late Ross and Hazel (Woods) Hicks. He was self-employed, a sub-contractor in the flooring industry for many years. Lloyd was a generous and giving man and his family meant everything to him. His grand children were the light of his life and Inez, was his best friend. He enjoyed gardening and stock car racing; Wednesday lunches with son Chris and competitive shooting, hunting and fishing with son Stephen. In addition to his loving wife, Lloyd is survived by his sons Stephen (Cathy) and Chris (Tammy) both of Saint John; brothers Ross (Peggy), of Moncton, and Russell of Ontario; his grandchildren Tara, Josh, Kaitlyn and Rachel; great granddaughter Laila and several nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law. Along with his parents, Lloyd was also predeceased by his brothers Gerald, Richard and Sherman and his sister June Hicks.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where the family will receive visitors Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am. A reception will immediately follow the service with committal in the Lorneville Cemetery.
