Passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2013 at The Health Sciences Centre in his 82nd year with Mary, his best friend and beloved wife of 57 years, and their family by his side. Kevin leaves this world to join his sons: Kevin and Mark and will be sadly missed by his adoring children: Bev, Greg (Karen), Kim (Ray), Craig (Mary) and Noel; grandchildren: Jill, Nicole, Joanne, Corey, Samatha, Sarah, Elizabeth, Katherine, Katia, Maggie, Kevin, Sacha, Martine, Noah, Mark and Jonah; and great-grandchildren: Rayne, Addison, Lily and Brinley. Predeceased by his parents: James and Alice; brothers: Frank, Ron, and Jim and sisters: Edna and Theresa, Kevin also leaves to mourn brothers: Brendan (Marie), Ken (Trudy), Paul (Kathy) and Dave (Jeannie) and sisters: Vera, Kay and Bobbi (Steve), brothers-in-law: Rol, Jerome (Noreen), sisters-in-law: Ellen (Raymond) and Eileen (Doug), and many special nieces and nephews. There are too many family members and friends to list whose lives have been touched by this gentle, caring and dependable man who was a community and church minded fixture of Kelligrews and St. Edwards Parish for most of his life. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, achieving the level of 4th Degree Knight. Kevin felt fortunate to have viewed the province from a train while working at Canadian National Railway for 35 years, retiring in 1988, and enjoyed the railroad association in retirement. Gratitude and appreciation are extended to Father Francis Roche and the nursing staff of the Health Sciences Centre who made Kevin’s last days as comfortable as possible. Family and friends may pay their respects at The James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 p.m.and 7- 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Edward’s Church, Kelligrews.
