MORICE-Lisa Morice 1915 – 2013. Mrs. Thyra Elizabeth ‘Lisa’ Morice, beloved wife of the late Melville Morice, passed away in the Sunnyside Care Centre at South Country Village on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the age of 98 years. Lisa leaves to cherish her memory four children: Dale (Jeannie) Morice of Calgary and family; Julien (Jolene) and their children, Maggie, Ronan and Kingston; Tara (Marc); Seana (Ryan) and their children, Jaia and Isla; Sharon (Don) Kipta of Medicine Hat and family; Scott (Eva) and their children, Steven and Trevor; Kerri and her children, Toren and Talia; and Angela (Troy) and their children, Tyler, Dylan and Payton; Dennis Morice of Canyon, B.C. and family; Shaina (Lonnie) and their daughter, Maevie and Joel (Chandra); Janeen Morice of Calgary. She is also survived by two sisters, Martha (Gordon) Wilson of Medicine Hat and Ethel Laurence of LaGrande, Oregon as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Mel, in 1986; her daughter-in-law, Vienna in 1996; her parents, John and Anna Erickson; two sisters and seven brothers. Lisa was born on the Erickson family farm at Lancer, SK on August 21, 1915. On January 29, 1942, she married Mel Morice and together they farmed in the Lancer district until 1967. After Mel’s death, Lisa continued to live in her home in Swift Current until 1998 when she moved to Chinook Village in Medicine Hat to be close to family. In 2007, due to mobility issues, Lisa moved to Sunnyside Care Centre where she resided until the time of her passing. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Sunnyside for their support. The Funeral Service was held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on
Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Findley officiating. Interment followed later in the afternoon at Memory Gardens in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
