DUFFY, CATHERINE (SALLY) THERESA - Mrs. Catherine Duffy (Sally) passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 30, 2013 at Bobby's Hospice. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on April 9, 1928 to the late Hugh Peter Lenihan and Margaret "Dorothy" Ahearn. She was the loving wife of the late Donald Malcolm Duffy. Catherine worked for the K-Mart shoe department for several years. She was an avid card and bingo player. Bowling was another one of Catherine's hobbies; she played in several leagues over the years at the Bowlarama. A proud lifelong member of the Assumption Church and she was also part of the Scout Mothers. Catherine is survived by her sons, Donald (Marilyn) Duffy of Public Landing, Michael (Bonnie) Duffy and James Duffy of Saint John. Her daughters, Jean (Steven) Levine and Cathy (Jeff) Gray both of Saint John. Her grandchildren Jenifer Levine, Carolyn Duffy, Patricia Duffy, Colin Levine, Jeremy Gray and Chris Gray; as well a special great grandchild Tristan Praught. She is also survived by sister in laws, Marion Lenihan and Winnie O'Hara. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Dorothy Lenihan, her husband Donald Duffy, sisters Corine Melanson, Jean Lenihan; brothers, Gerald, Paul and Harold Lenihan. Catherine was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John NB E2M 2L3. Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 1st 2013, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2013, from Our Lady of Assumption Church at 12pm. Following cremation interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Donations to Bobby's Hospice, Our Lady of Assumption Building Fund and the Cancer Society or to the charity of donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
