It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Mary “Jennie” Billard announce her passing on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at her residence in Corner Brook at the age of 74 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her special companion Russell Gates; sisters and brothers: Marina Ploughman, Shirley (Bill) Spence, Evelyn (Len) Chaisson, Eileen McGrath, Leon (Linda) Billard, Gordon Billard, Pauline Billard, Myra McKay, Judy (Dorman) Payne, Jeannie Billard and Helena Billard; sisters-in-law: Marie Billard and Vi Billard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Elizabeth Billard, brothers Eugene, Cecil, Edmund and Roy Billard, sister Laura Billard, brother-in-law Ted Ploughman. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Port au Choix on Wednesday, October 9 beginning 12 Noon with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Father Burro officiating. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
