76, Victoria, B.C., (formerly of Sherwood, P.E.I.) passed away peacefully on September 18, 2008, at Victoria General Hospital, Victoria, B.C., with family and friends. Joan, the loving wife of the late Staff Sergeant George Taylor (RCMP), was a devoted mother and grandmother, as well as a registered nurse for over 40 years. Joan will be remembered for her loyalty and commitment to her family, church and God. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Barry) and Kim; sons, Scott (Meri), Shawn (Sherry) and Chris; three grandchildren; sister, Mary Dunphy; and extended family, Brenda Truman, Marsha McCarthy and Joan Johnston. There will be a funeral service at St. Andrews Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, Victoria, B.C., to be followed by a memorial service at St. Pius X Church in Charlottetown, date to be announced. Private family interment will follow in People’s Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. McMirchry and all the nurses and staff at Victoria General Hospital who provided amazing care and support.
