DUPUIS, GERARD - With sadness the family announces the passing of Gerard "Gerry" Thomas Dupuis, which occurred on Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Elm Lane at the Loch Lomond Villa, after many years with dementia. Born in Moncton on November 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anne (Legere) Dupuis. Gerry worked for the former E.S. Stephenson Company as a motor winder and electrician for over 39 years, retiring from the Saint John Shipbuilding in 1994. Gerry built his camp near Robin Hood Lake, Westfield, in 1964 and for many years enjoyed fishing, hunting, ski-doing and four-wheeling drives with his family and friends. Gerry is survived by his wife Helen (Marshall) of 64 years; four sons Stephen of Saint John, Gerard Jr. (Nelly) of Taber, AB, Michael (Colleen) of Rothesay and Donald (Marlene) of Barnesville; four daughters Anne Marie (Brian) Sewell of Grand Bay-Westfield, Cathy Holt of Kingston, Debbie (David) Robinson and Jacqueline (Patrick) Breen both of Saint John; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his daughter Susan Roberts, brothers Adam, Henry, Raymond and Oscar and sisters Yvonne, Mary, Sally, Edna and Dora. The family extends a sincere thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Elm Lane for their care and friendship during Gerry's four and a half years with them.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Augustine's Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, Romero House Soup Kitchen or Alzheimer Society.
