FORSTNER, JOHN JOSEPH – The death of John Forstner, husband of Helene (Collette) Forstner occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday October 11, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born on February 25, 1930 in Bronx, NY to the late Joseph and Anna (Lumpe) Forstner. John was an Accountant working with the Campbell’s Soup Company for many years in Ontario before moving to Saint John. In Saint John, he worked as manager for Maritime Coffee for several years until his retirement. John was especially fond of his grandchildren, and was always in attendance at their sporting events. He was a born leader, coach, teacher, artist; he had a lot of creativity and a great sense of humour. John was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the Charismatic Prayer Group. Besides his loving and devoted wife, Helene; John is survived by his son, Kurt Forstner (Colleen) of Saint John and grandchildren: Erinn and Adam Forstner.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Chartersville Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
