Peacefully, with his family at his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 of Mr. Ernest (Ernie) Walsh of East Royalty in his 81st year.
Beloved husband of 60 years to Jean (Higginbotham) Walsh and dear father of Gary (Lori Lewis), Brenda (Roy MacNabb), Paul, Doreen (Guy Acorn), Cathy (Gary MacKinnon), David (Sandra), Colleen (Robbie Livingston) and Kevin (dec.). He is also lovingly remembered by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma (Bob) Acorn, Helen Creighan (Ted, dec.), Phyllis LeClair (Ronnie, dec.), Wally (Madeline); sisters-in-law, Frances Walsh, Peggy Walsh, Mary Walsh; and brother-in-law, Marcus Strachan. He was also predeceased by his parents, John and Anasthasia (Murphy) Walsh; brothers, Louis, Pat, Maurice and Art; sisters, Rita Strachan, Eileen (Jim) Ayers, Gladys (Jack) Campbell; and Sister, Doreen Walsh CND.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Saturday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
