Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family, Paul Joseph Rubia, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, on October 17, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Anne (Adriano) Flumian, of Kelowna, BC, Elizabeth (Mickey) (Bengt) Stahl, Nelson (Elizabeth), Mary Rubia, Leo Rubia all of St. Jude's, Evelyne Rubia of Ottawa, On, Vincent (Cathy) of Mississauga, ON, Harold (Debbie) of St. Jude's, Lydia (Dave) Loder, of Hanover, ON, Stephen (Cindy), Sonya (Jack) Barrett, both of Deer Lake, Paula Thompson (Rick) Payne, and Leslie (Eugene) Lake both of Fort MacMurray, AB, his 40 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and his great great grandson Cameron, a very special friend Patty Bouzanne; also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. Father was predeceased by his wife Isabella (nee Benoit), his children: Paul Jr, Walter and Margaret, his parents: Allan & Margaret Rubia, and all of his brothers and sisters. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL on Friday, October 18, 2013 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, and continuing on Saturday, October 19th, 2013 from 10-11 am. The funeral mass of Christian Burial will take place from The Immaculate Conception Parish, Roman Catholic Church in Deer Lake, on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2pm, with Father Boland, officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery at Wight's Road, Deer Lake, NL. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
