ELLISON, Bessie May – 94, Truro, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, October 15, 2013, in Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, Tatamagouche, where she had been a resident for the last few years. Born May 13, 1919, in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Catherine (McLeod) Blair. Bessie was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, McClures Mills. A true family woman, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and absolutely loved time spent at the cottage in Bass River. Bessie is survived by her children, Catherine Blois (Merle Smith), Truro; David (Doris) Ellison, Portapique; Richard Ellison, Bible Hill; step-children, Jean (Woody) Hooper, Ottawa; Heber Ellison, Valley; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Chester (Joan) Blair, North River; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Victor Roy Ellison; step-daughter, Mildred Ellison; sister, Pearl-Lee (Carl) Matthews; brothers, Ralph (Evelyn) Blair, James (Avis) Blair. Honouring Bessie’s wishes, a private family interment has been held in Watson Cemetery, Pastor Jacquie Ross officiated.
