MURRAY, LORNE E. - Lorne E. Murray, 84, of Autumn Lee Retirement Home, and formerly of Riverview, passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Born in Prosser Brook, he was the son of the late Leonard and Elsie (Mitton) Murray. Lorne was retired from Auto Haul Away (Driver), and was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, the Wheaton Settlement Orange Lodge LOL #135, the Independent Order of Foresters #1267, Moncton Legion Branch # 6 and a former member of the Auxiliary Police. First and foremost, Lorne enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson and great granddaughters. Lorne will be sadly missed by his daughter, Robin Murray (Al Steele) of Riverview; son, Brian (late Ann) of Upper Coverdale; grandson, Chris Murray (Jessica) of Riverview; great granddaughters, Sunshine Ann, Ocean Catherine and Meadow Rose; sister, Ella Hopper of Quispamsis; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Bella (Matchett) Murray (February 2000) and sister, Annie Steeves.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service for Lorne will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 1:30 pm, with Rev. Dr. Andy O’Neill officiating.
