LOWTHER, JEAN - Jean Nellie Lowther, 69, of Colpitts Settlement, passed away at home on October 20, 2013. Born in Moncton, she was a daughter of the late Caleb and Alice May Harrison. Jean was a member of the Colpitts Settlement United Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to music, going for drives and collecting things. More than anything else, Jean loved spending time with, and taking care of, her family. Jean is survived by her husband, Francis Lowther; her daughters: Amanda Lowther and Susan Lowther; her son, Stephen MacKay; her step-sons: Allison Lowther (Debbie), and Willard Lowther (Daisy); her sisters: Faye Lawrence (Duncan), Mildred Taylor (John), Joyce Harrison, Judy Cook (Burt), and Helen Sands; and her grandchildren: Jonathan and Julia MacKay. Jean was a second mother to Carol Carter, Linda Blandin, and Brian and Barry Gillis, and was Nana Jean to their children: Katie, Jimmy, Cassie, Cody, and Zachary. She will also be missed by her many other extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her sisters: Doris Gillis, Lillian Tozer, Stella Stiles, and Bertie Lawrence; and her brothers: Naaman, Peter, Stewart, Eddie, Andy, Jack, Kenny, and Hanford.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home (506-756-3361). There will be no visitation as per Jean’s request. A graveside service will be held in the Pleasantvale Cemetery on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Donations to a Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.
