MacKenzie, Roland “Rollie” – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roland “Rollie” S. MacKenzie of Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Earl Grey and Norma Ruth (MacLeod) MacKenzie. Rollie was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Carla Carrier; sons, Avery; Roland; Gordon; sister, Beverley (Lin) Fiddes; two grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Roddie. Rollie was a man that was well known for making his point, an avid outdoorsman and a house painter for most of his life. He was the kind of man that would give you his last dime if you needed it. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where there will be a celebration of Rollie’s life 2-4pm on Saturday October 26, 2013. Donations may be made in memory of Rollie to a charity of choice.
