The death occurred at the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home, Charlottetown, on Sunday, October 20, 2013, of Lulu Elizabeth “Bessie” Thomson, of Charlottetown, and formerly of Sherbrooke, aged 104 years. Born in Elmsdale, she was the daughter of the late George and Ada (Boulter) McArthur. Survived by her daughters Carrie Costain; Irene Simpson-Dawson; Mae Chappell; and Ruth Walker; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband John Thomson; son-in-law Keir Costain; brother and sisters Rosena “Rena” (George) Hardy; Rita (Jacob) Hardy; Loretta (Robert) Arthur; Bertha “Birdie” (Charles) MacMillan; Elvin (Jean) McArthur; and Verna (Herbert) Coulson. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Thursday, then to St. John’s Anglican Church, St. Eleanors, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to St. John’s Anglican Church would be appreciated.
