BLUE MOUNTAIN – Stephen Roy Major, 51, Blue Mountain, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his family.
Born in Wingham, Ont., he was a son of the late Roy Thomas and Patricia Elaine (Hawker) Major.
Stephen had been employed with New Glasgow Cleaning for 11 years as a floor finisher. He enjoyed raising chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys on his hobby farm. In earlier years he was an avid bowler.
Surviving are his twin daughters, Cassie and Shannon, Ontario; sisters: Susan, Patricia, Kathy (Larry) and Betty-Anne; brothers: Robert “Bob”, Kelly and Bill; step-sisters, Paula and Alice; uncle, Fred; aunt, Barbara; nieces: Sarah, Cathy and Julie; nephews: Luke, Brandon and Kevin; grandnieces: Rebecca, Tayler, Emily and Laila.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by step-mother, Millie (Paris); niece, Holly.
The family will receive visitors 12-2 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Donations may be made in Stephen’s memory to Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit Endowment.
The Major family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit staff, Dr. Gerry Farrell and Dr. Ibrahim.
