ROUSSEAUX- Albert Jean Rousseaux, age 85, of Swift Current, SK passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, Sk. The Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Richard Jasiak officiating. Prayer Service was held Monday, October 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church with Vivian Botch officiating. The organist was Marlene Dolter. Readers were Annmarie Middleton and Bob Rousseaux. The Life Tribute was presented by Laurie Finlay. The Ushers were Brian Rousseaux and Marcel Rousseaux. The Pallbearers were Arthur Middleton, Robin Monk, Clint Rousseaux, Lorne Hornung, John Rousseaux and David Rousseaux. The honorary pallbearers were the Catholic Men's Choir and all who shared in Albert's Life. Albert was born on April 2, 1928 in Vanguard, Sk. He attended school at the Glen View School. He was united in marriage to Grace McGrorty McIntyre on November 6, 1956 in Vanguard. During his life, Albert worked as a farmer, with R + R Motors and drove numerous heavy trucks for mail and cement. He was a member of the Christ the Redeemer Catholic Men's Choir. In his spare time, Albert enjoyed photography, camping driving, gardening, flowers, boating and had a sweet tooth. He always had his cap on crooked and his favorite swear was "Horse Feathers". Albert was a true McGyver and built an old welder from an aircraft generator. This was his best friend with repairs on the farm. He never learned to swim but still enjoyed going boating. Albert loved winter and the cold and enjoyed operating the snow plow during the winter. He also had a true love of music and loved to blast loud music from a big speaker. He was a great and faithful caregiver to Grace for many years as well. Albert is survived by his children; Annmarie (Ron) Middleton of Three Hills, Ab.; Irene (Ken) Skulmoski of Medicine Hat, Ab.; and Gerrard (Nadine) Rousseaux of Regina, Sk.; seven grandchildren; Arthur, Robin (Nicky), Kaitlyn, Jolene, Jocelyn, Parker and Clint; one great grandchild Taylor Monk; sister Louise Bickner; three brothers Philip (Noella), Paul (Norma), and Jim (Pauline); three brothers-in–law Jack McIntyre, Jack Rathje and John McCormick and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and England, as well as family in Vegreville, AB and Belgium. He was predeceased by his parents Vital and Anastasia Rousseaux; wife Grace Rousseaux; one brother Francis Rousseaux and one sister Mary Rathje. He will be sadly missed but fondly remember by his family and friends. In Albert's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
