The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on October 22, 2013, of Derek James Gallant of Summerside and formerly of Bloomfield, aged 62 years. Derek was born on February 21, 1951, in Bloomfield to his mother Lorraine Gallant. Beloved husband of the late Helga (nee Lander) Gallant. Besides his wife, Derek was predeceased by his stepfather Clarence Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no funeral service or visiting hours held. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
