Peacefully entered into rest at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, September 26, 2008, surrounded by his family, of Svend Alan Stead, 36 Westridge Crescent, Charlottetown, and formerly of Upton, age 57, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late George and Sadie (MacKinnon) Stead of Upton. Survived by brother and old buddy Wesley George (Bonnie) Stead of Upton, special friend Ursula MacDonald, Victoria Cross and sister-in-law Shirley Stead, Bellevue. Also survived by nieces Chrystal Stead MacDonald (Randy), Strathcona; Sharon Stead, Montague and nephew Randy Stead (April) North Lake. Predeceased by brother Arthur Stead. Resting at the Upton Gospel Chapel for family visitation only. Funeral service on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at Upton Gospel Chapel. Interment in the Old Dundas Acorn Cemetery.
