WALTON, GERALD - It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Gerald A. Walton, age 85, of Murray Corner. Gerald passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 1, 2013. Born in Murray Corner, he was a son of the late Tupper and Rena (Briggs) Walton. Gerald was a lifelong fisherman, born and brought up in Murray Corner, he continued the tradition, by marrying his loving wife of 59 years, Eva Peacock and raising their family in Murray Corner. He will be sadly missed by his wife Eva, Murray Corner; daughters Judy (Ambrose Norris) Walton, Bridgewater, NS and Jocelyn (Jim) Connolly, Dartmouth, NS; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Tanner) Elliott, Calgary, AB, Trevor (Sarah) Elliott, Bridgewater, NS, Gregory (Sarah) Elliott, Rosseau, ON; two great grandchildren Alex and Mackayla Elliott.; brother Keith (Myrtle) Walton, Murray Corner; sister Lois Walton, Moncton, NB, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home. Visiting hours will take place at the Jones Funeral Chapel, Main St., Port Elgin, (538-2241) on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the chapel in Port Elgin on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11 am, William Drysdale, DLM, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery.
