The family of John "Johnie" Alexander Henderson of Seafoam, are sad to announce his passing on Sunday, November 3, 2013 in Lillian Fraser Hospital, Tatamagouche.
Born in Seafoam, Johnie was a son of the late Frank and Janie (MacDonald) Henderson, and he spent his entire life there.
Fishing and music were a great part of his life as were his family and seven grandchildren.
Johnie is survived by his wife, Marie (Douglas); sons, John (Anna), Dartmouth; Jimmie (Isabel), New Glasgow; daughter Elizabeth (Jamie Craig), Seafoam; grandchildren: Jana, Julian, Julia, Jeremy, Jessie, Janie and Jean, warmly known as “The J Kids” ; sisters, Gladys Battist; Marion (Lloyd) Palmer; and sister-in-law, Jean Henderson.
He was predeceased by brothers, Wilbert and Fred; sisters, Jean Langille and Catherine Jewers; brothers-in-law, Stanley Battist and Alfred Langille and sister-in-law Della Henderson.
Johnie lived his life with great courage and dignity and will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Thursday in St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Toney River from where funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, with Rev. Gregory Dickson officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. David’s Presbyterian Church Sunday School and Youth Group.
