EUREKA – William “Bud” Fraser, 83, of Eureka, Pictou Co., passed away on Monday, November 4th, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Eureka, he was the son of the late Donald and Isabel (Munro) Fraser.
Bud was a lifelong resident of Eureka. He was a long time employee of Trenton Works from where he retired. Bud was a member of the former Zion Presbyterian Church, Eureka. He was a member of the Eureka Fire Department with over 50 years of service. Bud was an avid outdoorsman, in his early years he was a guide, enjoying hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed salmon fishing and fly tying.
Surviving are sisters, Martha MacLean, Hopewell; Catherine Saunders, Petawawa, Ont.; a niece Shirley (Alex) Conway; nephews, Donald (Darlene) MacLean; Stuart (Tanya) Saunders; great-nephews: Vincent, Christopher, Mark and Scott; great-niece Kaitlyn; great-great-nephews: Ben, James and Myles.
He was predeceased by a nephew Steven Saunders.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King Street, New Glasgow. A memorial service will be on Friday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Tonks officiating, assisted by Bonnie Langille. Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery. A reception will follow the service in the Eureka Fire Dept.
Donations in memory of Bud may be made to the Eureka Fire Dept. or the First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell.
