Charles G. Payne
The family of Charles G. Payne would like to thank everyone who sent beautiful floral arrangements, food and monetary donations, called us with a kind word, sent a card or message, or were just there to help with anything that needed to be done. The loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was made a little easier with the love and support we received from our family and friends. Your expressions of sympathy were greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Western Regional Hospital for the excellent care given to our loved one, especially at the Palliative Care unit, your kindness and compassion were exceptional. You will be forever remembered.
Thank you to David Parsons and staff at Parson’s Funeral Home for your thoughtfulness and guidance provided to us during this difficult time. Thank you to the pallbearers, (sons and grandsons) readers—Ida, Jon and Nora, St. Mary’s Choir and to Bishop Leonard Whitten for the beautiful service. Thank you to Brenda for letting us use her home in the weeks that Dad was in the hospital. Thank you to Mildred for your support and kindness to Mom. It is impossible to thank each of you individually, but please be assured that your kindness was greatly appreciated.
Miss Me, But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little – but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that was once shared,
Miss me but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone,
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know,
Bear your sorrow in good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.
