LEWIS, STANLEY LEROY - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Stanley Leroy Lewis, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday November 10, 2013. Born 1944, in Bridgetown, NS, he was the son of the late Douglas and Alice Lewis. Stanley worked in the grocery retail business for many years. He enjoyed painting, making picture frames and crafts and was an avid fan of the Saint John Seadogs hockey team. Along with working in the grocery store, Stanley spent 5 years driving taxi for Diamond Taxi. Stanley will be greatly missed by his loving wife Rose (Lockhart) of 49 years; son Jeff Lewis of Saint John; daughter Kim Conde of Saint John; brother Harry Lewis (Virginia) of Digby, NS; sisters Judy Austin (Roy) of Upper Clements, NS, Clara Sabean (Fred) of Young's Cove NS; grandchildren Christy Conde, Matthew Sargeant and Lisa Smith; great-grandchildren Robbie and James Smith; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Stanley was predeceased by his daughter Christina Sargeant and brothers Michael, Bobby and Kenny Lewis.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday November 13, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday November 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will be held in Port Lorne Cemetery, Nova Scotia at a later date.
