McKEAN, RAY ALLAN (RAYMOND) - 1932 -2013 - Ray A. McKean of Riverview passed away at Lakeview Manor, Riverview on Monday November 11, 2013. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Gordon and Hilda (Selvage) McKean. He was a retired Air Traffic Controller with over 25 years service, prior to which he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1950 - 1955. A member of Coverdale Lodge No. 52 F & AM, Lodge of Perfection, Rose Croix Consistory and a member of Luxor
Temple Shrine Saint John and Moncton and a member of the Riverview Veteran's and Armed Forces Association. Ray was truly at home when he was either hunting of fishing and was also known to enjoy a good game of golf. He will be dearly missed by his wife Shirley McKean (Smith), a daughter, Peggy Doucet (Ron Rickard) of Edmonton, son. Allan McKean of British Columbia, sisters; Doris McKelvie and Audrey Sellon both of Halifax, brother, Gerald of Ontario, grandchildren; Angela and Allison McKean both of Victoria, BC and Dylan Doucet of Edmonton and a great grandson' Ethan McKean of Victoria, BC, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Ronald and James.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM, Coverdale Lodge No.52 F & AM, will hold a Masonic service Tuesday evening at 6:45 PM from the funeral home. The funeral service will be held from Cobb's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday November 13, 2013 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Steve Berube officiating. The interment will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery. Donations to St. Paul's United Church, Lakeview Manor Nursing Home or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
