McGRATH, STANLEY - Stanley McGrath, 84, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Born in Tracadie, NB he was the son of the late David and Judith (nee Bulger) McGrath. Stan is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Melinda Marie (nee Savoie) McGrath and his loving children Wayne (Chris), Kevin (Debbie), Judy Grant (Stan) and Michael all of Saint John, his sister Lydia Harper of Ontario, his grandchildren Jason W. (Angela Hooton), Steven (Shauna Gulka), Cara (Travis Lunn), Anthony, Ron, Jason K. and his great grandchild Italie Lynn. Stan was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Alexandre, Emily, Albina, Leah, Hilaire, Lionel and Robert. A well-known businessman, Stan worked in car sales for over 40 years. Throughout his career, Stan won many awards symbolizing his excellence in the profession and his outstanding sales achievements. Stan was an active member of the Paroisse St.-Francois-De-Sales parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Tuesday, November 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Church, 603 Loch Lomond Road on Wednesday, November 20 at 1 p.m. with Father Donald Savoie as celebrant. Interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Lung Association.
