Dorsey Polley

1922-2013
UPPER CAPE, N.B. – It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorsey H. Polley on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, his wife Dorothy by his side.
Born in Upper Cape, N.B. on June 20, 1922, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Allen) and David Polley as well as step-son of Lester Allen. Dorsey is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Dorsey was employed with C.N.R., Russell Construction and retired from Mount Allison University after 27 years of employment. He loved to work in the woods, trapping, building and working on cars. He especially loved his dog, Buffy, who was always by his side.
Dorsey will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy (Harper) Polley; his children, Helen (Allen) Wall, Tony (Karen) Polley, Terry (Kathy) Polley and Donald (Robin) Polley; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren as well as by two nieces and one nephew.
He was pre-deceased by his two sisters, Lilas and Bessie and by two brothers, Cecile and Bedford.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Dorsey’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, N.B. on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. with William Drysdale, DLM officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorsey can be made to the Westford Nursing Home or to the charity of one’s choice.
